楓 Kaede(Japanese Maple)
One of the traditional yubinuki motifs, “kaede” means Japanese maple, and features the tree’s characteristic leaves. This ring highlights the autumn colors of the foliage which shifts from green or burgundy into vivid, fiery oranges or reds. The ring base is a deep, red-purple that both contrasts and complements the orange and green of the silk threads, and is signed by the artist in gold.

While yubinuki are tougher than they look, please remember that the core of the ring is cardstock and batting, not metal, and take care not to toss it in a bag where it may be crushed out of shape by something heavy. For transport, make sure it is protected by a box or placed around a ring cushion to help it hold its shape.
If you need to clean your yubinuki, use cold water on a cotton bud and gently dab it along the stain. Follow the direction of the threads to avoid disordering them.
