四色うろこ Yonshoku Uroko (4-color Scales)
Meant to evoke the scales of fish, snakes, or dragons, uroko is as ubiquitous in Japanese craft as it is infinite in its variations. This yubinuki falls solidly into the dragon camp, with scales of green, purple, and teal. The fabric on the inside of the ring is a vivid yellow-green that contrasts with the deeper colors of the silk thread.

While yubinuki are tougher than they look, please remember that the core of the ring is cardstock and batting, not metal, and take care not to toss it in a bag where it may be crushed out of shape by something heavy. For transport, make sure it is protected by a box or placed around a ring cushion to help it hold its shape.
If you need to clean your yubinuki, use cold water on a cotton bud and gently dab it along the stain. Follow the direction of the threads to avoid disordering them.
