Rainbow Fibonacci stripes phase through cobalt blue in an echo of the first design I ever wove on a rigid heddle loom, only ten times brighter and exponentially smaller. This was one of the yubinuki made for the intro course.

This yubinuki is sold as a necklace on 21” silk cording, but can be removed from its cord and worn as a thimble if desired. Yubinuki are designed to be worn between the top two joints of the index or middle finger when used as thimbles. If you intend to wear it as a ring, it is a size 8.

Metal chains and custom kumihimo cords are available as an add-on.

  • Yubinuki: Silk thread, silk batting, cotton

Necklace: Hand-dyed silk cord, nickel-free plated base metal findings

  • While yubinuki are tougher than they look, please remember that the core of the ring is cardstock and batting, not metal, and take care not to toss it in a bag where it may be crushed out of shape by something heavy. For transport, make sure it is protected by a box or placed around a ring cushion to help it hold its shape.

If you need to clean your yubinuki, use cold water on a cotton bud and gently dab it along the stain. Follow the direction of the threads to avoid disordering them.

Store out of direct sunlight, as it will cause the colors to fade over time.
